I

2005 Bullant Cabernet Merlot

I kept trying to think of a witty way to say how this wine surprised me and how for the price it is so rare to find a wine that tastes like the grapes that it is made from...obviously I gave up. I wanted to make it sound special and witty because a wine like this needs to be highlighted, it needs to be shown to as many people as it can. It tastes of herbs, cassis and ripe black fruits. It has some mint, a chocolately mouthfeel and softness of palate. It is made by the people at Lake Breeze and I should have known as they make terrific wine at outrageously low prices. To put this in perspective, this is a 14 dollar wine! I don't know why it is called Bullant, I don't really want to know in case there is some terrifying spiritual and painfully poetic reason behind it that would cheapen and take away from the simple fact that this 14 dollar wine is going to set the standard for quality this year. Quality Cabernet blend with some age on it, look no further. $84 for a six pack and $156 for a dozen.
