Possibly the most famous Soave producer selling wine in Australia, the expression of the Garganega grape, yes that’s its name, is unequalled, especially in regards to the more serious Colvarino and La Rocca single vineyard wines. This is the entry level Soave from Pieropan and it shows light white flowers, notes of grass and I even got a note of musk in there. This is a light wine with a medium texture, its elegance is its hallmark and even at 3 years old is still very fresh and delicate. The lemon acidity gives the wine length and for those of you who have not tried wines from Soave, in Veneto I implore you to. If you drink Riesling or Semillon, if you like elegance and pure fruit expression, then this should be your next purchase. Expect to pay around $30.
