The label on this wine says Basa, however, it is made by Telmo Rodriguez. Whichever name you choose, this is a fresh, clean and modern wine made from the Verdejo grape in the Rueda region in Spain. The Basa Blanco has lovely spicy, tropical fruit and clean zippy acid; and a nice mineral element which you can almost feel as you swallow. It is medium weight, crisp, refreshing and gently lingers for a while; and is a very enjoyable and delightful wine. This wine retails for $22, which I think is an absolute bargain. If you are out, and thinking of reclining into your comfortable Sauvignon Blanc pose, think again and try this, you won't be disappointed. This is one of the wines in this months wine pack, and I thought it was so good I wanted to make sure those of you that don't look at the packs still try this wine.
