2006 Delamere Pinot Noir

 
From the pretty island of Tasmania comes this pretty wine. It is light and delicate and mostly smells of rose petals, strawberries, earth and sneeze of black pepper. The palate is gentle with nice fine tannins and good acidity. Wine like this always makes me crave duck livers with spinach salad and sweet onions, don't ask me why, I had it once with a Pinot like this and it has stuck with me forever. Despite Autumns promise of cool weather the heat of the day still makes me think it is best to chill this down a little as it is so delicate, any warmth makes its flavours and texture billow out too much. It retails for around $25 dollars and is food wine, go out and buy some livers, I dare you!!
