2006 Grant Burge gb 56 Shiraz
This typifies what attracts people to Australian wine, wonderfully bright and ripe fruit. This wine is in the under $15 category and really does offer a lot of generous red and black fruits and softness on the palate. It is drinking really well now and I must say, I couldn't get enough. I was guzzling this wine and despite it being a 'fruit bomb' by nature; there were some nice savoury elements and good acid for balance. If you need a crowd pleaser next time you are out, or for that matter staying in, buy some of this. I really enjoyed it - it defines simple pleasure.
