This is only the second wine I have seen from this Barossan producer, and I must say I am mightily impressed. This blend of Tempranillo, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon is full of dense, ripe and savoury fruit. It is lean and generous at the same time, and has terrific acidity. It has leathery sweetness, blackberries and raspberries blended with earth and spice. I’m told the name is a hint toward its Spanish ancestry, the grapes that is, and it took me a second to figure it out, but the word they are using is Toro. It made sense. This is a wonderfully refreshing and savoury wine with succulent fruit expression and great balance, and all for the bargain price of around $30...no bull.
