To start - a quick history of this wine; firstly, the winemaker used to be a lumberjack in the Scottish forest of Torbreck, secondly, he has a friend who owns a bar in Paris called 'Juveniles' and whose daughter designed the label, and thirdly, this cuvee was made for the bar in Paris.
It is a GSM, made from old vine Grenache Mataro (Mourvedre) and Shiraz. It always has such a wonderfully scented nose, with light colour and so much flavour. Sometimes you smell the glass and get raspberry and the next time you get pepper spice and some leafiness, tar and sweet tobacco, tea leaves and strawberries and cream...it goes on. It is fragrant, and although made for the French, it is quite recogniseably Australian; the sweet fruit and alcohol give it away. I picked this up for about $28, but some people might push it up because of the reputation this winery has, the top wine 'Run Rig' sells for hundreds of dollars.
