This Rosé is made by bleeding the juice of the main Shiraz tanks. This is a practice used to increase the ratio of skins to juice, to make a more concentrated wine. The remaining, more concentrated juice, goes on to make the Jamsheed wines, while the lucky off shoot of this process is a pink wine. Rosé wines on the market vary widely, from sweet and sickly, to thin and weedy, this one is nowhere near either end of that spectrum thankfully. José, I hope it doesn't mind me calling it that, is bright and spicy with nice palate weight and lots of fresh red fruits, with notes of cherry, raspberry and I even got some rhubarb and cream. I know Rosé wines aren't meant to be too serious, but I would choose this over many of the Pinot' on the market. This wine is simple, yet elegant and a crazy cheap price of about $15. Go and drink my new friend José, and no, it's not too cold for Pink wines...ever!
