2007 Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir

A close inspection of this bottle will clearly establish that this wine is intended for good times. It is fined with easter eggs, it is not tested on animals, has a cute anecdote, and let's be honest, it's called 'Rabbit Ranch'. One thing that this Central Otago wine does not do, is take itself too seriously. Far too often wines from Central Otago are too expensive for what they deliver, they seem to be hoisting prices because the region can produce top wines, but they don't all do it. This is the opposite. This little Pinot Noir will cost about $33 in shops and tastes great, there is earth and beetroot and spice, cloves and pepper and the flavours really do build and improve well into the second day. I was mightily impressed and just wanted to keep drinking it. Good acidity, low tannins, heaps of flavour, this is a real crowd pleaser.
