Only the one wine made by Rory Lane in 2007, The Story Shiraz is a blend of a number of vineyards from the Grampians in Victoria. Cool climate Shiraz is something I love, and something I wish was on the top of more peoples "to drink" lists than it is. I tried this wine and liked the elegance, the fine tannins and dark, almost hidden fruit, it was another hot day and I knew with a little chill this wine would look fantastic, (when I say chill I don't mean 5 degrees, I mean 18-20 degrees, so it's cool in the mouth.) The wine had beautiful fruit expression, some raspberry, ripe plum, black liquorice and red currant, it even showed hints of cocoa and leather, however it is the spice and fine structure that made this wine stand out for me. It has concentration without being a fruit bomb, which is terrific. I'm not sure if it's easy to find, but I'm sure you can buy some directly from the winery for under $25, just follow the link, you won't be disappointed.
