2007 Umani Ronchi Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi

This is one of a number of Verdicchio from this producer, and goes by the name of Villa Bianchi (I couldn't fit it all in the heading), and it is their entry-level wine. The reason the title is so big is because it is the name of the DOC, and is called Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, just as Barolo is to Nebbiolo, in the north of the country. The wine is far simpler and easy to enjoy than Barolo however, full of zesty lemon acidity and crunchy fruit. Clean and fresh, the wine is perfect for our climate and would be terrific with fish and chips or something with lemon juice and fresh salads, as that annoying K.I.S.S acronym goes, 'keep it simple stupid'. Not designed for in-depth study, this style of wine should be consumed cold and young, and the best part is you should be able to buy it for about $16!
