| 2008 Paradigm Hill Pinot Noir Rose
Paradigm Hill are doing great things on the Peninsula and the slightest whiff of this Rose is likely to make you think twice about buying Spanish or French versions ever again. This wine has a perfect, clean and enticing nose of wonderfully fresh fruits and petals. The palate is dry, the back label (I love the info on the back label) tells me the residual sugar is zero, but you can feel the chalkiness on your cheeks. It has all I want from a Rose like this; perfume, fruit and a fine texture. The nose is really wonderful, there is something Beaujolais-like in it, perhaps a small amount of whole bunch action, as I doubt they have bothered to do any serious carbonic maceration, but whatever it is, I love it. On my notes, that I am now struggling to read (perhaps a little too much consumption going on) I have written "glorious, refreshing" and "fabulous", and will retail for about $30.
