| 2008 Stefano Lubiano Alfresco Riesling
What better attempt at refreshment when the temperature melts through 35 degrees than a slightly sparkling 8.5% alcohol Riesling from Tasmania. The Alfresco Riesling from Lubiano is delightful. Classic Riesling aromas, pure fruit and wonderful acidity, tickling bubbles, it is perfect. The winery says this wine is somewhere in between a dry table wine and a Moscato, and it is that indeed. It will retail for about $27 and is great value. I gulped it down outside Punch Lane, before the frightful rays of sun shone up little Bourke St, it was a lovely little reprieve from the days heat, though it counted little towards stopping me sweating through my shorts. Oh well, great wine can't fix everything I guess!
