2013 Jasper Hill Riesling
It smells great, not super concentrated or forward, rather showing a delicate mix of slate, talc, mandarin, lime and blossom. A second sniff drags out some bergamot. There is a lightness of touch here that is really quite lovely.
In the mouth the wine is supple, spicy and juicy, offering light floral white flower notes, almost original bubblegum, citrus peel and talcum powder. It’s a beautiful wine, interesting, layered and wonderfully fresh. This wine is a lovely counterpoint for a winery whose reputation is driven by big reds. RRRP $38
