Ben Knight is the owner and operator of the Melbourne-based Benandwine. The motto of benandwine is: “Wine Made Simple”.
Ben has over 15 years experience in the Hospitality Industry with a focus over the last 7 years in wine consultancy. Ben has completed the certified Sommelier exam with the Court of Master Sommeliers. He has also completed WSET levels 2 and 3, and is completing the WSET diploma. Ben has been running beginners wine courses in Melbourne since 2007.
Ben has had an extensive career as sommelier in some of Melbourne’s finest restaurants, including Gin Palace, La Luna, Syracuse and Walters Wine Bar. Before establishing Benandwine, Ben was Head Sommelier at the iconic restaurant Vue de Monde.
Ben is also the creative consultant to the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival wine program and is the Wine Director for Bottega Restaurant and Luxsmith.
Ben has been published in Gourmet Traveller, Melbourne Weekly, Broadsheet magazines and The Guardian Australia and consults to a number of Melbourne restaurants on wine list selection. Ben is also the Victorian and Queensland educator for The Wine Society and host wine course at The Wine House too.
